The charismatic enigma has been battling drugs and addiction for a long time outside the squared circle. He even had a small stint at a rehab facility after a DUI arrest back in October 2019. The former WWE Champion was let go after he was in a six-man tag team match with Drew McIntyre and Xavier Woods against Roman Reigns and The Usos. Once the match had started, Hardy seemed sluggish in the ring and later left the ring and walked out through the crowd.

Following the incident, he was offered help and support from the management but once he declined, he was let go of his contract with the company. He is currently abiding the 90 day no-compete cause of WWE’s contract but will be free to join any brand once it gets over on 10th March 2022.

The 44 year old’s brother, Matt, revealed the news while also addressing the prospects of the veteran joining All Elite Wrestling during the latest episode of his podcast, “Do I think Jeff Hardy could end up coming to AEW and teaming with Matt Hardy again? As they say in the wrestling business, never say never, anything is possible. We’re definitely going to be working together and we’ll see if the planets align and we do get the opportunity to become the greatest team in all of space and time once more.”
