Jacqueline was one of the toughest and strongest female athletes to have stepped foot inside the squared circle – Jerry Lawler sheds light on her incredible mindset
Jerry “The King” Lawler was actively commentating for WWE when Jacqueline was in the company. He has seen the two-time WWF women’s champion from close quarters.
Both Lawler and Jacqueline are highly respected personalities in the pro wrestling world. Lawler shared something interesting that Jacqueline told him during her wrestling days.
Pro Wrestling stories shared a quote from Lawler where he mentioned that the 58-year-old, once told him that she could beat anyone that she faces irrespective of their gender.

This only speaks volumes of the physical strength and mental toughness that Jacqueline had during her career. She indeed had an unmatched power game in the women’s division and many superstars of this generation idolize her.
Jacqueline had an admirable career in pro wrestling. She is a trailblazer and a gamechanger. She is one of many female superstars that paved the way for Women’s wrestling being as popular as it is now.
Jacqueline is a former one-time IAW (Independent Association of Wrestling) Women’s champion. She also wrestled in the Universal Wrestling Federation (UWF) where she captured the UWF Women’s World Championship on one occasion.
In her time at the Puerto-Rican professional wrestling promotion World Wrestling Council (WWC), she won the WWC Women’s Champion once.
Her best time in terms of winning gold came in the United States Wrestling Association (USWA) which was a professional wrestling promotion based in Memphis Tennessee. She won the USWA Women’s Championship a whopping 14 times.
Across her two different runs in World Wrestling Federation/Entertainment, she won the WWF Women’s Championship twice. Jacqueline is also a former WWE Cruiserweight Champion and she became the first African American to win that title. She is also the first and only woman to hold the belt.
She was trained by Skandor Akbar and was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame Class of 2016 on April 2.
