Shinsuke Nakamura was attacked by Jey Uso and Roman Reigns at the end of SmackDown this week

Shinsuke Nakamura seemed set to become the next challenger for Roman Reigns’ title, but Jey Uso and the champion had other plans.

They attacked the Japanese star at the end of the most recent SmackDown after a gruelling gauntlet match. They then put down a destroyed Adam Pearce on top of Nakamura and it was the WWE official who got the ticket to face Reigns at the Royal Rumble.

Suffice to say, Nakamura wasn’t happy and posted a cryptic message after the match. His tag partner, Cesaro, also sent a warning to Reigns and Uso.

However, more was to come as SmackDown announced a huge match for next week. They confirmed that Uso would take on Nakamura in a one-on-one battle.

The tweet added that Uso and Reigns had taken away the chance from Nakamura to wrestle for the title.

Revenge for Nakamura?

The loss would have come as a huge blow for the Japanese star. Nakamura looked incredible and had eliminated stars such as Daniel Bryan and Rey Mysterio clean in the match.

The Japanese star is a former NXT Champion and this was a performance that brought up his best days. WWE have made Nakamura a bit of a tag performer alongside Cesaro, and it will be interesting to see how he does against Uso.

Cesaro could also play a role in all this while Reigns won’t be far behind. This promises to be a great storyline too, if WWE plays it right and we should also hear more from Pearce after his shock ‘win’ on SmackDown.
