“Not good management” – Jim Ross questions WWE management regarding Bray Wyatt release

WWE released Bray Wyatt recently and Jim Ross had a few companies for his former employers

Former WWE Champion Bray Wyatt being released by WWE is one of the biggest bits of wrestling news in 2021.

Wyatt had not been seen since the WrestleMania 37 match against Randy Orton where Alexa Bliss cost The Fiend the match.

There had been conflicting reports of why Wyatt was missing and his Fiend character was not being seen. Bliss continued her part of being part of the Fiend’s story before she was made a singles competitor after his release.

Nevertheless, Wyatt was possibly one of the top earners in the company and it was a surprise seeing him go. Another top earner was Braun Strowman and the Monster among men was also released by the company.

Former WWE commentator and wrestling legend Jim Ross was speaking about the Wyatt situation and believed his ex-company made a mistake with the handling of the situation (h/t Wrestling Inc):

“There’s politics nowadays because of the immense salaries,” Ross said. “Bray Wyatt gets cut, he’s got to be making north of a million on a downside guarantee and he’s been sitting home. That’s not good management.”

Ross added that Wyatt should never have been cut and WWE should have used him if he was being paid so much:

“I’m not saying the guy should’ve been cut, he should’ve been used if you’re going to pay him that kind of cash. How that happened is a story for another day because I don’t know the details. I do know they got rid of a very talented kid and I’m sure he won’t have any issues finding work, speaking of Bray Wyatt.”

What next for Bray Wyatt?

Wyatt is too talented to be sitting out and it will be interesting to see where he heads off to next.

Ross is correct in saying that Wyatt will find a new home, and AEW could be the right one for the talented star.

The Dark Order is one faction he could lead, as his close friend, Brodie Lee, was the leader before passing away in 2020.

Even if Wyatt doesn’t have the rights to The Fiend character, he could still come up with something special wherever he goes.

AEW could be calling and there must already be a countdown to when his non-compete clause ends.
