Former WWE champion Jinder Mahal is back on RAW with a new faction
Earlier this month, it was reported that Jinder Mahal was seen with two new members by side at WWE Main Event after his match against Jeff Hardy.
That duo, earlier believed to be Indus Sher, turned out to be Dilsher Shanky and Saurav Gurjar. The two are now called ‘Shanky’ and ‘Veer’ respctively.
There was a doubt if the trio was going to be back on RAW after not being in action since the Superstar Spectacle that was shot in January 2021.
But it is now clear that the faction is ready to enter RAW and make a splash. Mahal, who calls himself the ‘Modern Day Maharaja’, last fought in RAW last April.
In a repeat of his Main Event fight, he took on Hardy again on the red brand this Monday, where he hit the Khallas to win in dominant fashion, as his faction members stood ringside.
Jinder Mahal labels faction member the protege of The Great Khali
And speaking on Monday Night RAW Talk, Mahal had some words of praise for his two henchmen. Notably, he pointed towards Shanky and called the giant ‘the protege’ of the Great Khali.
“And this [pointing towards Shanky], not only is he 7 feet tall, but he’s an accountant. So this is a smart giant. Not only that, he is a protege of the Great Khali.”
Khali might not have been the first Indian in WWE but he was, and still continues to be, the biggest Indian superstar to have been a part of the promotion.
His wins against The Undertaker and in the 20-man Battle Royale for the WWE championship set forth a new era in WWE which made a corner on the show for its Indian fanbase.
If Shanky can achieve even half of what Khali has on the show, then it would be a very successful career. And who is to say he can’t, with the big man Khali himself having his back?
