Jinder Mahal wants to regain his WWE title
WWE superstar Jinder Mahal claimed on Twitter that he has made his comeback to WWE to win the title again.
The former champion made a return to in-ring competition recently and looks better than ever.
In 2017, Jinder Mahal shocked the world by winning the WWE Championship off Randy Orton. He held SmackDown’s main title for months until he lost it in Manchester in November to AJ Styles.
The former champion retweeted that moment and commented:
“Back on the path to regain the ‘crown emoji’ This time it will be different, this time it will be done the right way. #Respect”
Before his injury, the Indian origin star was last seen at the WWE Super ShowDown in the 50 man battle royal last year. Mahal suffered a knee injury that required for him to undergo surgery and he needed between six and 12 months to recover.
The Maharaja faced Akira Tozawa for his return match and clinched an easy victory. Despite being out of action for a while, Jinder signed a 5-year deal with WWE in 2019.
The wrestler has been with the company since 2016 where he was given the underplayed enhancement role initially.
Recently, Drew McIntyre spoke about Mahal’s comeback and possible title run. The pair were part of 3MB and it is a bit amazing that both became world champions after splitting up from the group.
“I don’t know if the fans would necessarily accept it right away, Jinder and I have that legitimate, real story. He just has to get a bit of a run going, build up some steam and when the time’s right, come together.
“Aside from what people saw on television, besides the fact he won the title before me and everyone kind of crapped on it, then I won the title and everybody kind of praised it.”
In a promo on the May 11 episode of Monday Night Raw, Jinder spoke from the heart about what he hopes to achieve on the show going forward.
He recalled the mistakes he made in the past as WWE Champion when the fans despised him. Mahal has seen what McIntyre is currently achieving as the Red Brand’s top male star, and he wants to have that same level of respect from the fans.
