Former United States Champion John Cena responds to birthday tweet from current US Champion Austin Theory
Austin Theory is currently enjoying his reign as a WWE United States Champion. Recently he took to Twitter and apologized to John Cena for being a better US Champion.
However, it didn’t take Cena much time to respond to the tweet as he made it clear that he doesn’t have to apologize for being better than him, but he needs to be sorry if he fails to live up to his potential.
Theory shared a video of himself at a live event where he was seen bragging in front of a fan dressed as Cena merch. After that, Cena took to Twitter and stated about Theory.
Theory has recently been working closely with Vince McMahon on television and has enjoyed the push since the beginning of his career. It has also been reported that McMahon views Theory the same as a young John Cena.
Austin Theory reveals that he is a big fan of John Cena
While Theory is digging at Cena on Twitter, he is a big fan of his. Current US Champion spoke at the WWE After the Bell podcast, where he talked about how he grew up influenced by him. In addition, he said how much bigger a fan he is of Cena.
“When I say it people are like, ‘Oh you were a John Cena fan,’ but it’s a little deeper than that. Just because as a kid when you watch anything, you’re super influenced by it. Whatever somebody’s attitude is or personality or the decisions they make, it’s very influential. I was picked on a lot, and a lot of it was because I watched wrestling. But I knew if I could make it to Monday or Friday, I was good. Just watching Cena was always that pull away from real life.”
It will be interesting to see whether we ever get a match between Austin Theory and Cena in the future.
