John Cena lauds ‘brave’ James Gunn before release of new Suicide Squad movie
John Cena had kind words for his Suicide Squad cast ahead of the release of the movie next week.
The 44-year-old star, plays Peacemaker in the film which is titled the same as the 2016 version including Bloodsport, Peacemaker, King Shark, Harley Quinn and others.
Cena is now away from filming for movies as he made his return to WWE at Money in the Bank. He put a post on Twitter to thank the cast, ahead of the release, saying:
“Cannot say how exciting and FUN being a part of the @SuicideSquadWB has been. From the absurdity of our characters, the brilliance of @JamesGunn, and most importantly the genuine reaction of the audience, I am SO excited for you to enjoy! ONE WEEK AWAY!!! #TheSuicideSquad“
Cena also spoke earlier about James Gunn and what he brings to the table saying: (h/t Metro)
“James really wanted to explore who those baddies were internally. That was exciting for us as an ensemble of actors that all got together to really pull some of the layers out of these characters.”
The movie is based on the DC Comics and will have a stellar cast including Margot Robbie, Idris Elba among others.
Will Cena create history in WWE?
After the return of the 16-time Champion, there has been one question on everyone’s mind. Will John Cena make it to 17? He is scheduled to face Roman Reigns at SummerSlam for the WWE Universal Championship.
The match was made and will now be Reigns’ toughest challenge yet. Cena winning it at the Allegiant Stadium next month, could be a vital point in the title’s history. He can overtake Ric Flair with a win, and will go all-guns blazing considering his status with the company.
