Johnny Gargano promises to be ready for TakeOver: XXX after horrible botch

Johnny Gargano was lucky not to suffer a career-threatening injury on NXT

Former NXT Champion Johnny Gargano took part in a qualifying match on NXT this week.

He was up against Ridge Holland and had the chance to feature at NXT TakeOver: XXX in the Ladder match for the North American title.

While the battle between the two stars was excellent, there was a horrific moment for the former champion.

Holland tried to slam Gargano down but botched the attempt as both stars were slightly in the air. Holland couldn’t land Gargano properly and instead, he crashed onto his neck.

There was a lot of concern right after the moment and fears that Gargano had picked up a serious injury. However, the former champ won this match and even had a part to play in the main event later on.

Gargano ready to become champion again

Gargano is one of the few triple crown champions on NXT and has also held the North American and tag titles during his time in the promotion.

He posted an update claiming that he would be fine ahead of TakeOver: XXX and also served a warning.

Gargano was willing to put it all on the line at the PPV, and it seems he wants to be champion again. What he survived in the ring was an example of how tough he is, but also he as a little lucky:

While Gargano might have gold on his mind, things won’t be easy. The Ladder match featured four other stars including Velveteen Dream.

Bronson Reed has looked good to win his first NXT title while the other competitors are Cameron Grimes and Damian Priest.

Ladder matches are also extremely dangerous and hopefully, such botches won’t take place during the PPV.
