WWE Superstar Johnny Gargano will be looking at other options as the WWE contract is expiring
Johnny Gargano recently extended his WWE contract to one more week and will be appearing for NXT WarGames. But that’s not precisely the case for Gargano. As WWE wants him for much longer than that, he could be interested somewhere else.
Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Radio notes that WWE wants a much bigger deal with Johnny Gargano, but he has not signed any contract and might be looking towards some other options as well.
Meltzer also noted that it is still not 100% that he is leaving by any means, but they have not offered him a 7-day contract. So it can be more than that.
“Gargano, his contract is up December 3rd. He signed a one-week extension to December 10th so he could do the WarGames show and finish up the storyline. It is not 100 percent [that] he is leaving by any means. He is considering his options but obviously, he has not signed a contract. They did not offer him a 7-day contract.” (H/t Ringside News)
Meltzer also mentioned that WWE wants to sign a multi-year contract with him, but he has not signed a deal, which indicates that he is looking for other options. He said that there was only one decision for Adam Cole: to leave the company, but for Gargano, there are two decisions, and now only time will tell what he decides.
“They want him to sign a multi-year contract, and he has not done that, and the fact that he has not tells you that he is certainly exploring all options. There’s a lot to think about from his perspective. It’s not as open and shut as some people because to me Adam Cole was open and shut. There was only one decision for Adam Cole to make…Gargano, there’s probably two decisions and I don’t know which way he’s going. If he was leaning strongly towards staying, they probably would have talked him into singing and that has not happened. It’s up in the air.”
Since ROH is out of the way as they are not dealing with contracted wrestlers, only a few of the top options remain for Gargano.
