Former WWE Superstar Jon Moxley takes a dig at writing a promo in WWE
Jon Moxley ( Dean Ambrose in WWE ) is one of the biggest stars in AEW. He worked with WWE from 2012 to 2019.
He left the company despite being one of the most successful wrestlers, individually and with the SHIELD. Despite the success, he moved to AEW after being frustrated with his booking and the promos in the company: (h/t Wrestling Edge via Oral Sessions)
Moxley also went on to explain why promos in WWE was something he hated:
“As far as what to put in and what not, it’s kinda like a wrestling match or like a promo. That’s why WWE promos f***ing suck because they jam 5,000 f***ing words in there that aren’t necessary. Say what you want to say, mean what you want to say, get your point across. ‘I’m gonna beat your a** on Saturday night because I don’t like you.’ Boom, done.”
His frustrations continued while talking on his wife’s podcast Oral Sessions saying that he was not impressed at the work taken to make the promos. The mundane writing of just a good and bad guy made him believe that wrestlers wasted their quality.
Moxley has already become a household name with AEW holding the title for a record 277 days. He is on a hiatus after his last appearance in May, after the birth of his child with wife, Renee Paquette.

The commentary team confirmed this decision of Moxley on AEW Dynamite. Paquette, who was also in WWE as a broadcaster welcomed their first daughter, this week. Moxley is excited to enter fatherhood and is also open to his daughter joining the wrestling business.
The Lunatic Fringe announced the pregnancy in November on an episode in AEW. He has also revealed that he will be releasing an autobiography in November this year. Moxley’s return in unknown but one thing is certain that the former WWE Champion is going to re-ignite AEW.
