NXT Cruiserweight Champion Jordan Devlin seeks inspiration from Rey Mysterio

This week on Monday Night Raw saw Rey Mysterio take on AJ Styles in a hard-fought battle for a position in the Elimination Chamber for the WWE title.

Mysterio lost a close-fought battle by a whisker but, as always, created some really fascinating moments in the match with his moves, which impressed both fans and NXT Cruiserweight Champion Jordan Devlin.

Aj Styles threw Rey from the lower rope out of the ring, but Mysterio made some fantastic moves to save himself from the fall. Jordan was hugely amazed by Rey and took to Twitter to compliment the former World Champion.

Mysterio still got what it takes to be at this level, even at 47. In his return, he looks more fit with the physique.

Jordan Devlin has already revealed how impressed he is with Mysterio

Current Cruiserweight Champion once appeared in an interview with SPORTBible (h/t Fightful) and mentioned how Mysterio remains one of the best in-ring performers in wrestling and how he has been going for the 20-25 years at the highest possible level.

“I’ve been watching him since I was a really young man, and I’ve seen him in WCW. I watched his stuff in ECW on tape, and then when he came to the WWE, he lit the whole world on fire again,”  “He’s just been going for, like, 20-25 years at the highest possible level, and he just has this ability to reinvent himself. And some of the matches he had this year with Andrade, it’s just like you’re watching an 18-year-old man fly around the ring, and some of the stuff he’s able to pull off is incredible. So, he’s an inspiration to me and an inspiration for most other young wrestlers who see themselves wrestling into their late 30s and 40s.”
