WWE star Keith Lee gets a new name “Bearcat” ahead of Raw Dark match
Last Night on Monday Night Raw, WWE star Keith Lee performed in another dark game with a new nickname. Lee made the entrance with the announcer referred to him as Keith “Bearcat” Lee.
The new nickname might be referring to the WWE Hall of Famer Bearcat Wright. Wright was actually a Black Man who was really popular during the 1950s-1960s.
Wright was even suspended by the Indiana State Athletic Commission for announcing that he would not support segregated wrestling.
This nickname might be a tribute to Wright from WWE’s perspective.
WWE star Keith Lee was out of action for quite a while due to the contraction of Covid. Keith made a return to WWE after the Money in the Bank pay-per-view. However, he was out since February of this year.
Lee said in a YouTube video that he has gone through COVID, which has led to WWE star Mia Yim staying home and take care of him, due to which she also caught the virus.
Keith also came to find out about the inflammation in his heart, and things turned out to be very serious for him suddenly.
According to (h/t post wrestling) Keith was quoted saying in his YouTube video,
“I contracted COVID, she did not, actually for like three weeks and the only reason she did contract it was because she refused to not be there and take care of me and unfortunately, that ended up costing her an opportunity in the Royal Rumble. But, that was a chance she was willing to take so, at the end of the day, I’m grateful to her and it’s unfortunate that some of you aren’t grateful because the reality is there’s no telling how things would’ve gone without her assistance so, after that, I came back for one match against Mr. Riddle and I believe that was February 8th and then the next day I got a call saying that there was something off in my blood. Some people may have experienced this thing where there’s like an inflammation in the heart or lungs.”
