Kenny Omega ‘battling the pain’ to compete professionally

Current AEW and IMPACT World Champion Kenny Omega is reportedly suffering from multiple injuries.

In addition to a stomach virus from this past week, Omega is also suffering from a deep bone bruise near his tailbone. An athletic hernia and bruised knees are also part of his ongoing issues. Omega also injured his hand badly, needing 7 stitches during a match against PAC in the Double Or Nothing on May 30.

Omega is one of the most decorated wrestlers in the industry. His accolades speak for himself, but apparently his body isn’t doing too well over the last few months. What’s worse is that the absence of fans has removed the element of the extra adrenaline in matches.

Omega delivers amazing matches on a regular basis, after his exploits in New Japan Pro Wrestling. He created classics against Kazuchika Okada and Tetsuya Naito.

“He’s definitely in a lot of pain getting through the recent big matches. At the fan fest the day before the PPV, he said there are days he wakes up and walks around where he thinks maybe he’s close to the time to hang it up, because his body is feeling worse. But he also noted that having real fans in the building when he’s performing makes him feel a lot better.” (h/t Wrestling Observer Newsletter)

Kenny Omega: Triple Champion

Kenny Omega holds the undisputed feat as the AEW World Champion and AAA Mega World Champion and IMPACT World Champion, simultaneously. He faces a tough fight for his AAA Mega World Championship. He battles to defend it against Andrade El Idolo at Triplemania XXIX. Omega also is an integral part of AEW and IMPACT Wrestling.

He will be looking to continue his dominance

Omega won the AEW World Champion and as a result took away the belt from Jon Moxley in December 2020. He is in a title reign in AAA Lucha Libre since October 2019 after beating Rey Fenix for the gold. Finally, Omega beat Rich Swann in April 2021 during Rebellion, to hold all three titles together.
