Edge suffered another injury after his WWE return but a former WWE Champion wants a piece of the Rated-R Superstar
Edge remains one of the big names that almost everyone wants to wrestle. The Rated-R Superstar came back from injury last year and made his return in the 2020 Royal Rumble.
He was then involved in a big battle with Randy Orton. However, Edge suffered a serious injury and was out of action for a while.
The Canadian came back big-time and won the 2021 Royal Rumble. He is to face Roman Reigns for the WWE Universal title at WrestleMania 37.
Many stars have shared their desire to face the Canadian and Kevin Owens also did the same. The former WWE Universal Champion was speaking on The Bump and shared what Edge meant for many young Canadians (h/t Wrestling Inc):
“When Edge announced his retirement way too early, that was really hard for everyone. “It felt like the possibility of something great was robbed from us. I would tell you 99% of young Canadian wrestlers coming up at the time were hoping to wrestle Edge in their career, including me.”
Owens was excited at seeing Edge return in 2020 and the reactions from the fans said it all. However, more bad news was to come for Edge after he picked up an injury against Orton.
Kevin Owens hopeful of facing Edge
Owens then spoke about how great it was to see Edge coming back. The Rated-R Superstar is someone who KO wants to face:
“I have to say, I wondered if he’d even come back from this injury. But I’m glad to see he did, and the possibility of a match with Edge is something really appealing. And I really hope it happens. I’d love to wrestle him.”
KO vs Edge would be a great battle, especially since both stars are experienced and great workers in the ring.
Of course, Edge has some big fish to fry at WrestleMania but he also makes his SmackDown in-ring return on Friday.
Edge vs Jey Uso has a lot of ramifications for Fastlane where Reigns defends his title. The Rated-R Superstar looks back to his best and hopefully, we do get to see some of these tasty matches later on in the future.
Owens is one of the best in the ring and he could serve a treat against Edge if they meet.
