Kevin Owens and Roman Reigns clash on Twitter ahead of Royal Rumble showdown
Last week on WWE Friday Night SmackDown, Kevin Owens showed up out of nowhere to shock Roman Reigns.
Reigns and Adam Pearce signed a contract to confirm their title match at Royal Rumble 2021. However, Pearce said that he was injured and could replace himself with anyone of his choice.
And then came KO. Much to the shock of Reigns, Owens walked out to the ring and put pen to paper for a last-man-standing title match at the PPV. Reigns and KO had met twice a few weeks ago.
The Tribal Chief won both the title fights, with the last one occurring due to an intervention by Jey Uso. This was certainly not a satisfying end to the rivalry, but it looked like that would have to suffice.
Nevertheless, the added twist by WWE producer Adam Pearce has added more spark to the rivalry. Owens looks more determined than ever to get his hands on the Universal title.
Third time lucky for Kevin Owens against Roman Reigns?
However, the Big Dog is still oozing confidence and he flaunted his cocky streak on social media.
Replying to an interview of KO conducted by Paul Heyman, Reigns said that this was the last chance that Owens had to become relevant.
And, he asked the challenger to enjoy it while it lasts. Owens had a simple answer to the champion, as he replied with a “No.”
The title fight between the two would be some spectacle. Their previous two matches were already amazing. Owens took The Tribal Chief to the limit at TLC 2020 before having another physical encounter the following week.
And with this match being a last-man standing match, expect sparks to fly even more.
