WWE and Peacock have signed a deal worth close to $1billion and Kevin Owens seems to be happy with it
One of the biggest stories coming out of the wrestling world is the Peacock WWE deal which is worth an astonishing $1billion.
Reports suggest that this deal is for five years, but WWE’s release claimed it was multi-year deal and didn’t bring up how much it was worth.
Nevertheless, this deal means that Peacock, NBC Universal’s streaming service, became the exclusive home for the WWE Network.
All of the shows that you normally see on the network will feature on Peacock and also the PPVs. WWE also confirmed that from 2022 a special documentary would be made each year, but the $1billion figure is eye-catching.
While the details of how current users of the WWE network transfer to Peacock are still being worked, this is a huge deal for WWE.
Many stars have spoken out about this move and Kevin Owens seems happy with it too.
Scott vs KO
NBC made the American version of The Office and that is one of the most watched comedies ever. It was on different platforms but now it is only on Peacock and that was something that Owens spoke about.
The Canadian seems to be a huge fan of the show and tweeted that Peacock would be beautiful since The Office and WWE would be available on the same platform.
Dwight Schrute and Michael Scott are two of the best characters on the show, and it will be interesting to see how his WWE-Peacock tie-up goes.
WWE have already done something similar in India with the WWE Network being taken off and Sony Liv becoming the sole service to stream shows live.
Sony also holds the rights to live TV telecasts of Raw, SmackDown, NXT and other WWE PPVs. The Office and WWE on the same platform could be fun and it would be incredible if there was a tie-up of some sorts.
