Drew McIntyre, Braun Strowman and Bobby Lashley are set to feature in a triple-threat match for the WWE Championship at WrestleMania Backlash
Lashley’s 2021 has been a crazy ride. From losing his United States Championship at Elimination Chamber and winning the WWE Championship the very next week, he has come a long way.
After a series of title defenses, notably at WrestleMania 37 against Drew McIntyre, he is once again set to give it all to retain the belt at WrestleMania Backlash. His opponents? Drew McIntyre and Braun Strowman.
Now, McIntyre had actually lost his title to the Miz, only recently at the Elimination Chamber, after the ‘Awesome One’ cashed in his money in the bank briefcase with the help of Lashley. And the very next week at RAW, Miz lost his title to Lashley.
Strowman, on the other hand, has always been in the title picture for ages. Last week, he attacked both McIntyre and Lashley brutally, to set up a fierce contest at Backlash.
Elsewhere, Booker T speaking in his Hall of Fame podcast, gave his prediction for the upcoming triple-threat match.
Despite claiming that he had a poor track record in predicting wrestling matches, Booker T felt that Lashley would retain his title at WrestleMania Backlash.
Here is what ‘King Booker’ had to say:
“Yeah I think he will…I just feel like this is a match Bobby Lashley should walk out [unscathed]…It being a triple-threat should actually add icing on the cake for Bobby Lashley’s reign.”
Booker T is going to go with the ‘King Booker Effect’ and bet on Bobby Lashley
Speaking further about the triple-threat match, ‘G.I Bro’ reminisced about his champion of champions triple threat match at Cyber Sunday in 2006.
Booker T mentioned how he went on to win the match, beating John Cena and The Big Show, despite the odds being stacked against him. He added that this match at Backlash is pretty similar to that of his, and hence sounded pretty sire that Lashley would win.
‘King Booker’ said:
“I’m gonna go with the ‘King Booker’ effect and bet on Bobby Lashley to walk in as champion and walk out as champion.”
