Kurt Angle reveals turning down multiple AEW contracts
WWE Hall of Famer Kurt Angle has revealed that he has turned down several contracts from AEW.
Today’s The Wrestling INC Daily featured the Former WWE Raw General Manager where he was asked about working for AEW. To which he commented :
“Yes, they offered me a couple of different contracts.
“I turned it down for personal reasons, but Tony Khan’s been really nice to me, very generous, and I really appreciate his interest in having me there. But at this particular time, I can’t
A year ago, Angle was on the same show and said that an AEW appearance was “off the table.” He also noted that NBA Hall of Famer Shaquille O’Neal tried to recruit him to AEW. Angle told about the AEW offers :
“The first offer, they wanted me to have many matches,” Angle said. “The next offer, I think, was three matches, and then one was just an on-camera personality, no wrestling.”
Angle hasn’t wrestled for a long time and has been doing a lot of podcast work. However, the Olympic gold medalist could still have something left in the tank and it will be interesting to see what is next for him.
AEW signed several other former WWE Stars
All Elite Wrestling has made its mark on professional wrestling week in and week out by signing several former WWE Stars. Ever since AEW made its debut in the wrestling fraternity in 2019, many notable faces from WWE have joined hands with AEW.
WWE stars like Chris Jericho, Cody Rhodes, Sting and even Mark Henry and the most recent entry CM Punk.
Tony Khan, the president of AEW, has been able to sign some elite stars with the help of big bucks.
