Kurt Angle opens up about the “most important” match of his career against The Rock

Kurt Angle is a legend in the wrestling business and had a huge rivalry with The Rock

Ariel Helwani, a noted MMA reporter, also has a lot of interest in WWE. Helwani recently posted a tweet about Kurt Angle winning the WWF title at No Mercy almost 20 years ago, and it still remains one of the greatest matches in the history of the promotion.

While Helwani also spoke about Rikishi doing a bit, it was the win for Angle over The Rock that caught the attention of the Great One.

The Rock has stopped featuring in WWE and is a bona fide actor, but even he tweeted regarding this special event.

Angle, who is an Olympic gold medallist, won his first WWE world title at this event, and claimed this was the biggest match of his career.

He also claimed that The Rock helped him out a ton during his early career and he had a ton of respect for the Brahma Bull.

Angle out of WWE

While Angle is a WWE Hall of Famer and is considered by many as one of the greatest ever, his time in the promotion over recent years wasn’t all that great.

There was the angle where Jason Jordan was his son which never clicked. Angle as the GM of Raw also didn’t work out much and he was recently released by WWE despite being a producer for the organisation.

Angle has featured in other promotions such as TNA and has always been one of the best performers. The American was also offered the role of becoming Matt Riddle’s manager in WWE but he turned that down as he wanted to concentrate on his business ventures and health.
