Kurt Angle had the opportunity to be the manager of Matt Riddle on WWE
Olympic gold medallist, Kurt Angle, needs no introduction. The former WWE champion is one of the biggest names in the industry even 2 years after his retirement.
Angle retired after WrestleMania 35 but such was his star-power that WWE approached him soon after to be on the TV screens in some capacity.
The promotion approached the ‘American Hero’ to manage Matt Riddle. Riddle is, of course, a former UFC star who is signed on WWE RAW.
While Angle turned it down, he revealed that it was an opportunity that he would have loved to make the most of.
But it was not to be. And he was on The Hannibal TV on YouTube earlier this week where he revealed why he turned down this chance to return to WWE.
And Angle revealed that it was because of two reasons; the first was because of his supplement business, BarnDad Nutrition.
“Yes, they approached me about managing Matt Riddle, which I would loved to have done. But having a supplement company, it was in a very crucial point, with the lockdown, and the business was going down. I needed to be there a lot more, so I couldn’t really manage anybody.”
He went on to mention that the money offered to him for managing Matt Riddle was also not that great considering the amount of work he would have to do.
“Not only that, but the money wasn’t that great. To be an on-air talent, it wasn’t as good as I would like it to be, so I passed.”
Well, sounds like he’s hinting that a better offer could force him back into the fray. Angle is one superstar that the fans would love to see on the show and if it ever happens, it would be a great move for the promotion as well.
