LA Knight says his delivery style is based off The Rock, Ric Flair and two other WWE legends

LA Knight is the hottest thing on WWE NXT at the moment and his promo delivery style is a mash-up of several legends

WWE NXT is the perfect location for rising stars to hone their skills and it seems they have their next one in LA Knight.

Of course, Knight isn’t new to the wrestling game as he had a stint with WWE in 2021. Knight, AKA Eli Drake, won several titles during his TNA days but he is back in WWE and with a vengeance too.

Knight was the hottest free agent recently and was snapped up by WWE. The 38-year-old recently made his NXT debut too and was speaking to Bully Ray and Dave LaGreca on the Busted Open podcast.

Knight is known for his confident delivery style on the microphone and Ray compared him to The Rock.

Drake spoke about working with The Rock during their days on The Hero show. He claimed that his voice was a little similar to the Rock’s but also named three other WWE legends that his delivery was based on:

“Basically, my top guys are [Hulk] Hogan, [Ric] Flair, The Rock [and Stone Cold Steve] Austin.

“I take a little bit from everybody. Probably, the least of which from Hogan because it is tough to but for the most part, those are my guys.

Knight also joked that his delivery was a mixture of two moods he felt:

“It’s funny because I always compared my promo style as a mixture between me at a party and me arguing.”

Knight was also up against another interesting character on NXT this week. He has started a rivalry with Dexter Lumis and defeated his rival thanks to some unexpected help.

Lumis is having a romantic angle with Indi Hartwell and she was there to distract the mysterious star.

The pair also seemed ready to have a kiss after the match but The Way got in, well, the way, and stopped that from taking place.
