The rift between Charlotte Flair and her father, Ric Flair, continues to grow
This week’s WWE Monday Night RAW saw the story between Ric Flair, Charlotte Flair, and Lacey Evans another surprising turn.
Evans and Ric declared that their relationship is platonic. And, Evans revealed that she is with ‘The Nature Boy’ so that she could better herself as a wrestler.
Meanwhile, Evans and ‘ The Queen’ went head-to-head on the show. Ric Flair announced before the match that if Evans could win against Charlotte, she would have a title shot against Asuka at Elimination Chamber.
Evans went on to win via disqualification, as Charlotte lost her cool. After the match, the two predictably squared off on social media.
The Queen replied to a photo of her standing in front of her father, Ric Flair. She captioned it saying “He didn’t pass the torch…… I took it.”
Charlotte Flair continues to take shots at her father
This is certainly a big statement coming from her. Many WWE fans feel that her being the daughter of The Nature Boy has given a head start in a lot ways.
Nevertheless, her emphatic statement might even have a touch of reality to it. Charlotte would have been a little annoyed at how her in-ring achievements always get undermined by the fact that she is a Hall of Famer’s daughter.
Lacey Evans then took a shot at Charlotte for being ungrateful. She also implied that Ric has a lot of ‘fire’ still left in him.
The story seems to be going nowhere for the WWE women’s Grand Slam champion. But for Evans, it seems to working wonders.
She now has a title shot against RAW women’s champion Asuka in less than 2 weeks’ time at this month’s PPV.
