Former Superstar Lana reveals texting Mandy Rose when she was released by WWE
Former WWE Superstar Lana has revealed that she learnt about her release while talking to Mandy Rose via text messages.
She also revealed that she spoke to current WWE Raw Women’s Tag Team Champion Natalya even before talking to her own husband, Miro.
During her appearance on Talk Is Jericho, she spoke about how she received the news from the company, which led to her exit saying: (h/t Wrestling Edge)
“I was in the middle of texting Mandy (Rose). We were texting about other random things and I’m just like, I just got released. She was like ‘Wait, what?’ and I’m like ‘Yeah, they literally just released me’. And I called Nattie immediately. I couldn’t even talk to Miro yet.”
The Ravishing Russian also spoke about including a no-cut clause in her future contract as it is always scary to know that a release can be expected at any time. The contract still had 3 and a half years left for its expiry, which is why the release came as a shock to her.
Lana was released in early June along with the likes of Braun Strowman and Aleister Black. She is currently under a 90-day no compete clause after which she is free to join any promotion.
Was Lana let go early?
There were reports that Lana was set to receive a major push in the tag team division on WWE RAW with Naomi. The two were collaborating for four months, before the release put an end to it. She was also part of an exciting storyline with Nia Jax, where the underdog persona gave her a lot of acclaim from the WWE Universe.
Now there are chances that she reunites with TNT Champion and husband Miro on AEW. The duo were a power couple together in WWE and made a name as a wrestler-manager duo.
