Updates regarding Roman Reigns testing positive for COVID-19
The Tribal Chief “Roman Reigns missed the first pay-per-view of the year as he was tested positive for COVID-19 just a few hours before the WWE Day 1 show.
Reigns took to Twitter and mentioned that he won’t be competing due to the protocols and will return as soon as possible. He was supposed to defend his title against Brock Lesnar at WWE Day 1.
“I yearn to perform tonight at #WWEDay1 to defend my Universal Championship. However, unfortunately, earlier today I tested positive for COVID-19. Due to the proper protocols, I am unable to compete as originally scheduled. I look forward to returning to action as soon as possible.”
Reigns could not compete at WWE Day 1 against Brock Lesnar for the Universal title. WWE announced on Twitter that Lesnar will now move to the WWE Championship match, which will now be a Fatal-5 Way featuring Big E, Kevin Owens, Seth Rollins and Bobby Lashley.
The Usos alone represented The Bloodline alone without Roman Reigns, and they successfully retained their SmackDown Tag Team Championships against The New Day.
The duo spoke with Sports Illustrated after the PPV event and updated “The Tribal Chief”. They said that Reigns is OK and will be OK and talked about Pandemic being so crazy.
“It felt off not having the Tribal Chief around,” Jey Uso said. “This match was for him. We represented, and he’s going to be OK. He’s home resting and maybe playing some Call of Duty. So we’re going to see him back soon.”
“We opened the show, and we’re so used to seeing The Big Use close the show,” Jimmy Uso added. “This pandemic is crazy, and all we want is for him to be safe and take care of himself.”
