The Sasha Banks versus WWE saga is taking new twists and turns quite frequently. Less than 24 hours ago, there were strong rumors of WWE releasing one of its most talented wrestlers.
Sasha Banks and Naomi walked out of the May 16 episode of RAW after they were in disagreement with WWE’s creative department. The Stamford-based company indefinitely suspended the two popular Superstars on the following episode of SmackDown calling their behavior “unprofessional” and something that “disappointed the fans”.
Wrestling Inc’s Raj Giri said he heard WWE released Sasha Banks yesterday. However, Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful said that it was not confirmed as yet but he did not rule out the chances.
Mat Men’s Andrew Zarian has the latest update on the Sasha Banks’ release story
According to Andrew Zarian, Banks’ legal team is working on getting their client released from Vince McMahon’s company. However, he could not confirm whether “The Boss” has already been released.
“I cannot confirm that she’s released, but…I did hear late last week that her attorneys were working on getting this done.”
Zarian states that WWE feels they can replace Banks with somebody else and it won’t make much of a difference. He continued by saying that for WWE, everybody is a mid-level actor except for Roman Reigns, Brock Lesnar, or Cody Rhodes.
“In their minds, they could clone Sasha with somebody else and have her fit that role, and no problem. It is now a role you are playing. It’s a role with mid-level actors. Everybody’s a mid-level actor, except for a Roman Reigns, or a Brock Lesnar, or a Cody Rhodes. Those guys are the stars.”
Zarian was also asked if he felt there’s a chance we could see Banks in a WWE ring once again but the answer wasn’t a positive one.
“No…I don’t see Sasha going back right now.”
