Two WWE Superstars react to the recent releases of the company
WWE Raw Superstars Alexa Bliss and Rhea Ripley have reacted to the latest releases of Superstars for the second time in June.
Bliss couldn’t take the releases earlier in the year and she had a similar message this time around too:
WWE released 13 Superstars including Fandango, Tyler Breeze, Tony Nese, Ever-Rise (Chase Parker & Matt Martel), Ariya Daivari, August Grey, Killian Dain, The Bollywood Boyz, Marina Shafir, Arturo Ruas and Curt Stallion.
Bliss had earlier reacted to the shock release of Westin Blake on Twitter saying:
“Awww thank you @TheWestinBlake !!! You鈥檙e seriously the best ! Loved BAMF &seriously was some of the most fun I鈥檝e ever had . Your talent is beyond words & I can鈥檛 wait to see what you do next! Ps. If u need anyone to straighten your hair before matches I still got u.”
WWE Raw Women’s Champion Rhea Ripley has also shown her disappointment after the recent list of Superstar releases.
Ripley and Bliss are on the red brand in different storyline with Flair and Baszler respectively. They both won their matches at WWE Hell in a Cell. It is possible with Bliss’ push that she is given a title opportunity in the near future. Ripley will be wary of her antics after watching her horrifying segments weekly.
However, they were not the only stars left shocked at the recent releases. WWE seems to have made it a habit to let go of stars, but these releases has really made 205 Live bare bones.
WWE releases in 2021
WWE Chief Revenue Officer Nick Khan is on a rampant streak in 2021 to maximise profits after suffering budget cuts. With no crowds for a long duration, the company has been struggling financially with rumours of a sale.
The long list of WWE releases began in April this year after Samoa Joe, Mickie James, Billie Kay, Peyton Royce, Bo Dallas were some of the high profile names who left the company. In May, WWE got rid of NXT star Velveteen Dream after various internal conflicts. The list also included Alexander Wolfe and Skyler Story.
The biggest shocker of releases came in June as Braun Strowman, Lana, Murphy, Ruby Riott, Santana Garrett and Aleister Black were released. Strowman’s departure came reportedly after having a $1 million contract per year deal.
