Lio Rush shares picture of mask he wanted to use in WWE
Lio Rush was one of the many wrestlers released by WWE last month.
The former NXT superstar had been with the promotion since 2017. Having started out at NXT and featured in 205 Live, he was moved to the main roster in 2018, where he spent most of the time acting as the “hype man” for Lashley.
However, an internal conflict with the management meant Rush went on a brief hiatus after WrestleMania 35 in 2019, before making a return in September later that year in NXT.
Soon after his return, the American wrestler won the NXT Cruiserweight Championship from Drew Gulak and held it for 63 days.
Following his release last month, Rush hinted that he might not return to professional wrestling anymore. Instead, he is focused on his music career and recently dropped his first music album.
Amidst this, the former WWE superstar has been selling some of his old wrestling gear, pictures of which he shared on his Twitter account.
Among these was a mask that Rush had wanted to use during his time in NXT, but Triple H refused him from using it.
The prototype of the mask looks quite bizarre, resembling an insect with several spikes on the face. Safe to say, Triple H made the right call by rejecting Rush’s suggestion to put the mask in use.
