Liv Morgan hints at unhappiness over lack of screen time in WWE
Liv Morgan has taken to Twitter to express her unhappiness over not featuring on WWE regularly, becoming the latest wrestler to do so.
Morgan has been part of the WWE setup since 2014, having joined NXT. The real-life Gionna Daddio made her main roster debut in November 2017 on SmackDown, launched as part of the heel faction ‘The Riott Squad’ alongside Ruby Riott and Sarah Logan.
While the group made quite the impression early in their tenure on the main roster, things have pretty much been downhill for Morgan ever since the Riott Squad was broken up in 2019.
Having meandered along aimlessly, Morgan went under a repackaging towards the end of the year and was relaunched on RAW as part of Bobby Lashley and Lana’s wedding angle, which went nowhere.
Following a singles’ mini-feud with Ruby Riott, the pair were put back together last year and have been involved in bits and pieces, not really doing much of note, apart from playing a hand in The IIconics disbanding.
Pretty much an afterthought on WWE SmackDown nowadays, Morgan and Riott rarely get any major screen-time. Despite the lack of genuine challengers for the Women’s Tag Team Championship, the Riott Squad has continued to be overlooked.
Instead, WWE has shoehorned a glued-up team of Sasha Banks and Bianca Belair in the tag team title picture, while another thrown-together team of Natalya and Tamina also seem to be in the picture. Unhappy with the situation, Morgan took to Twitter to hint at her displeasure on how things are going.
Morgan, to her credit, has done well with whatever little she has been given. So, it is natural for the frustrations to boil over for the Riott Squad member.
And, it’s not like she is the only one in this situation. Recently, we also saw Andrade hand in a request to terminate his contract having not been seen on screen for a long time.
This has been a major gripe against WWE for quite some time now – their inability to create new stars. Hopefully, Morgan’s fortunes in the company take a turn for the better soon.
