Io Shirai can’t wait for In Your House
NXT superstar lo Shirai revealed that she wants to fight Charlotte before NXT In The House.
Charlotte will defend the NXT Women’s Championship against Ripley and Shirai in a Triple Threat Match at NXT TakeOver: In Your House.
However, Shirai doesn’t want a triple threat match and tweeted:
“This is an opportunity that belongs to me. But @RealKingRegal I don’t want to wait!
“Give me Charlotte before!!!!!!!! @WWENXT #WWENXT #NXTTakeOver”
Ripley and Flair tore down the house at WrestleMania in the first-ever match with an NXT title on the line at the Grandest Stage of Them All. But The Queen parlayed her experience advantage into victory to become NXT Women’s Champion for the first time in five years.
Meanwhile, Shirai deservingly earned the right to challenge Flair by overcoming five other women in a Ladder Match.
The Evil Genius of the Sky may have given Charlotte more than she bargained for, as The Queen got herself disqualified during their title tilt, brutalizing Shirai with a Kendo stick until Ripley intervened.
The Joshi Judas wasn’t all that thankful for Ripley getting involved, however, and both saw the other as standing between them and the championship. The Queen took advantage of the turmoil, laying them out during their one-on-one bout.
Flair praises Shirai
Flair was put to the test earlier as she made her first NXT Women’s Championship defence against Shirai. The Queen had been on a roll racking up some big wins along the way.
However, she was in for a fight and was pushed to her absolute limits by The Genius of the Sky. After some incredible in-ring action from both Superstars, Flair decided to take the easy way out by hitting Io Shirai with a kendo stick and retain the title.
However, The Queen was impressed by Shirai and tweeted:
“I don’t leave many matches thinking ‘wow, I need to keep getting better’. Tonight was one of those. Until we meet again 👸 @shirai_io.”
