Mansoor does not want his unbeaten WWE streak to end via DQ after RAW debut
On this week’s RAW, Main Event and 205 talent Mansoor finally made his long-awaited main roster debut.
The 25-year-old from Saudi Arabia has been doing a great job in the past few months and this call-up was rightly earned. And straightaway, he was put in a match against Sheamus.
For Sheamus’ WWE United States Championship, the title fight was looking like a one-sided contest in favour of the Irishman until Humberto Carrillo intervened.
This meant that the match was ruled out as a Disqualification and Sheamus was handed the win, thus, keeping the title. The outcome made for two interesting conversations.
Many fans discovered that Manny was indeed on a 49 (yes, that’s not a typo) fight winning streak before his match against the Irishman.
Mansoor wants DQ against Sheamus overturned to a no contest to keep unbeaten streak alive
And for others, it was time for them to polish their knowledge of WWE rules and technicalities. Many thought a DQ would not register as an official loss, including Mansoor himself.
But if a fighter is attacked, the one who is exempt from it is handed an automatic loss. And yes, it counts as a loss in the record books too.
And as seen in the tweet above, either genuinely or as a part of the storyline, Mansoor really wants his streak back.
There could be three reasons as to why WWE chose this ending for Mansoor’s debut fight. First could be overturning it to a no contest to create a hype around the unbeaten streak.
Secondly, it could be to start a newfound rivalry between Humberto Carrillo and Mansoor. Or, it could even be to spruce up Carrillo and Sheamus’ rivalry at the expense of the Saudi pro wrestler.
Whatever the reason, Mansoor now has the attention of the WWE Universe and it will be interesting to see what direction the promotion decides to go with him.
