Maria Kanellis lauds female stars of Impact Wrestling
Former WWE superstar Maria Kanellis has praised the women stars of Impact Wrestling, amid speculations of her return to the promotion.
Maria was one among the host of superstars released by WWE in April as parts of budget cuts due to the coronavirus. Her husband, Mike Bennett, was also cut by the promotion.
Unattached since then, Maria has been touted to return to Impact Wrestling, where she spent a year between 2016 and 2017. A video released by the promotion, ahead of the Slammiversary PPV, the return of Maria had been teased.
Amid the speculations, Twitter user Ron G posted a message claiming that Impact Wrestling should bring back Maria and husband Mike Bennett. The fan further added that the return of Maria would add instant credibility to the promotion.
Responding to the tweet, Maria wrote: “The women over there already have credibility.”
Kanellis has done a lot of work on social media recently. She and her husband still have a future in the wrestling business and it will be interesting to see what is up for her next.
Impact Wrestling recently confirmed the release of Tessa Blanchard last week, while stripping her of the world title. Having lost her, the promotion could certainly use the star power of someone like Maria.
Not long ago, Deonna Purrazzo made the switch from WWE to Impact Wrestling after being released. Will we see Maria also move to the promotion in the coming weeks?
