Bray Wyatt came out in his old avatar to haunt Braun Strowman on SmackDown
Ryan McKinnell and Mark Henry were on the Busted Open podcast as they spoke about Bray Wyatt’s appearance on SmackDown.
Wyatt started off in a Firefly Fun House segment as he targeted Braun Strowman again. Wyatt had lost to Strowman for the title and it was expected that The Fiend would come out to challenge Strowman.
However, the WWE Universe was in for a twist as Wyatt brought out the Eater of the Worlds character, which spooked Strowman out a bit.
The co-hosts claimed that this could have a psychological effect on Strowman with McKinnell comparing all this to Mick Foley’s avatars:
“Let’s take it back 20 years ago to a storyline and a man that you know very well, Dude Love or Cactus Jack or Mick Foley.
“It seems to have some of those same feels, which I am all for. If you are going to do that with anybody, if you are going to try a call back to a Mick Foley and do multiple characters and have someone being able to pull that off, Bray Wyatt is the guy to do that.”
Henry agreed and said that Wyatt was like the Joker we grew up with, especially the laughter that Wyatt had when talking to Strowman.
McKinnell added that he hadn’t seen a lovable yet menacing character like Wyatt ever.
Strowman vs Wyatt
Strowman made light work of the Miz and John Morrison at Backlash. However, a rematch against Wyatt will be interesting.
Wyatt and Strowman have a lot of history from the Wyatt Family days, and McKinnell is right in suggesting that only Bray could pull off playing multiple characters.
The Husky Harris days are gone and Wyatt has now presented three different avatars during his run in WWE.
The Eater of the Worlds can play a lot with Strowman as the Monster was initially a part of the Wyatt family before breaking off.
WWE can certainly play with this a lot and it will allow Wyatt to shine too. He might not be getting the wins regularly on WWE but he still is one of the most entertaining wrestlers.
Wyatt is great in the ring but his promo skills are fantastic too. Hopefully, WWE can build a good story regarding this rivalry which should continue for a while.
