Former WWE legend Mark Henry hits out at body shaming of Piper Niven
AEW commentator and analyst Mark Henry has come out in support of new WWE RAW Superstar Piper Niven. Niven made her debut last week on the red brand.
Henry took to social media to share a message in support of the Scottish wrestler, saying:
“I’ve always been a little sensitive especially to bullies. She is also a good Wrestler and nobody should be Tormented because of their color, size, orientation or otherwise.”
Henry has himself faced body shaming issues in his entire WWE career, having been termed as “overweight” and “oversized to be a champion. He proved all his haters and doubters wrong after winning the WWE World Heavyweight Championship and being dubbed the ‘World’s Strongest Man.’
Niven, who is to be called ‘Doudrop’ is now an ally of returning Superstar Eva Marie. The two partnered together for the first time on Monday in a qualifying match.
After her debut last week, many fans came out mocking Niven for her size and passed shocking comments. WWE Superstars like Charlotte Flair retaliated with a good message in support of Niven.
How did the pair fare in their first match on RAW?
Doudrop and Eva Marie were pitted against Naomi and Asuka in a Money in the Bank qualifying match. Despite being in control, it was Asuka and Naomi who got the better of the new tag team partnership.
Doudrop cost Marie the win by dropping down the apron unknowingly while Marie was set to tag in.
The loss is a disappointing start for the pair after Doudrop beat Naomi in singles action on the previous week’s edition. Whether or not the two combine well in the future, is something we’ll have to wait and see.
