WWE star Matt Riddle opens up on what made him interested in joining the company
WWE RAW Superstar Matt Riddle has revealed that Brock Lesnar and Daniel Bryan were two reasons why he got into the company.
Riddle has done a great job on RAW as he came from NXT. However, he brought up two big results featuring Lesnar and Bryan that convinced him to join WWE.
While speaking on Instagram to WWE Deustchland, he says : (h/t Ringside News)
“Also, I’ll be honest, I saw Brock Lesnar beat the streak of The Undertaker. I was like, ‘I should probably get into WWE.’ That same night, Daniel Bryan became a double champion, I believe against Triple H and Batista. It was a big night for me. That was when all the MMA stuff was happening with me. I was happy with the WWE and I also saw a resurgence in pro wrestling.”
Riddle joined WWE after a stint in MMA with UFC till 2013. Since then, he has gone on to become the most improved wrestlers in recent times. He has won the United States Champion, since his move up the main roster.
Lesnar broke the biggest streak in sports entertainment winning at WrestleMania XXX. The same night Daniel Bryan beat Batista and Triple H to win the WWE World Heavyweight Championship. The WrestleMania is greatly remembered as one of the best in the last decade.
What is in store for RK-Bro?
Randy Orton is now teamed up against Matt Riddle in a tag team called the ‘RK-Bro.’ The pair have picked up wins on WWE Raw including using each other’s finisher against Xavier Woods in singles action.
This week though, Riddle cost Randy Orton a Money in the Bank spot with a distraction. The Bro, however, upset all odds as he beat Drew McIntyre in a qualifying match.
Riddle will have once in a lifetime opportunity as he could be the man on top of the ladder come July 18.
AJ Styles and Omos are also worried about the recent success of Orton and Riddle and have called them out. This could mean that Riddle and Orton aim to win the WWE Raw Tag Team Championship together.
