Matt Riddle is one of the few stars in the world to have had some form of success in the worlds of the UFC, MMA and WWE.
The 36-year-old is currently performing in the NXT brand and has won the tag titles recently with Pete Dunne.
However, Riddle’s career didn’t start with wrestling in mind. The Allentown, Pennsylvania-born star fought in several MMA promotions before making it into the world of wrestling.

Riddle moved to Saratoga Springs in New York and attended Saratoga Springs High School where he was a state champion.
He won several wrestling champions but moved into the world of MMA after losing his wrestling scholarship.
Matt Riddle UFC career
Riddle held a 1-0 record in his amateur MMA career before getting a chance in Ultimate Fighter 7. He defeated Dan Simmier in his first outing but lost the next one to Tim Credeur.
Riddle then faced Dante Rivera in the finale of TUF 7 and this is where his UFC career properly began. All in all, Riddle fought 12 times in the UFC with a record of seven wins, three losses and two no contests.
The two no contests were wins for Riddle, but those were taken off his UFC record due to him testing positive for cannabis.

Riddle was released by UFC and signed by Legacy Fighting Championships in 2013. However, that contract was picked up by Bellator and Riddle was expected to feature for them. The American injured his rib before a tournament and retired from MMA for financial reasons.
Riddle did fight at Titan FC in 2014 and defeated Michael Kuiper. He was to fight for the Welterweight title, but couldn’t make it due to injury.
The 34-year-old then started training in wrestling and featured in several promotions such as Monster Factory, World Wrestling Network, Pro Wrestling Guerrilla and Revolution Pro Wrestling and many others between 2014 and 2018.

In 2018, Riddle signed for WWE and was shown off as one of the newest members during a show. Riddle started off his WWE career as a singles competitor and had taken the gimmick of a laid-back surfer dude who fought wearing no shoes.
He even challenged Velveteen Dream for the NXT North American Title but was unable to grab it. Riddle was part of the NXT Survivor Series team that ultimately lost in the PPV.
However, he was teamed up with Dunne for the 2020 Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic and they became an instant hit.
Riddle and Dunne were called as the Broserweights and won the tournament for a shot at the NXT tag titles.
The pair defeated Bobby Fish and Kyle O’Reilly of the Undisputed Era for the titles. However, the team couldn’t continue for long as Dunne was unable to compete due to travel restrictions after covid-19.
Timothy Thatcher was Dunne’s replacement but he turned his back on Riddle, and the titles were lost to Fabian Aichner and Marcel Barthel of Imperium.
Riddle moved to Smackdown in 2020, where he defeated the likes of AJ Styles and Corbin. He was drafted to RAW in October 2020 and had his name shortened to just Riddle. At Raw, Riddle was successful in winning the United States Championship. In 2021, Riddle formed the team, RK-Bro with Randy Orton. They are the current RAW Tag Team Champions and have already held the title twice. RK-Bro is all set to face the Alpha Academy and the Street Profits at WrestleMania 38.

Riddle married Lisa Rennie in 2011 and the pair have three children. The Original Bro is father to twin girls and a son.
Rennie, Riddle’s wife, is a former gymnast and the pair dated briefly from 2010. However, not much else of her is known currently.

Riddle would make over $30,000 on average per MMA fight but that has substantially increased thanks to his WWE contract.
Reports suggest that Riddle’s current net worth in 2022 ranges between $2million and $3million.
Matt Riddle also earns a six-figure salary with WWE which is stated to be $400,000.
