Drake Wuertz is a former WWE referee and if reports are to be believed, Matt Riddle has financially helped him in his political campaign.
In the Florida Department of State campaign finance database, there can be seen that a number of pro wrestling stars have donated to the campaign.
The 37-year-old Drake Wuertz is currently a candidate for the Republic nomination for Florida State Representative in the 30th district.
Wuertz was not only a former referee but also a deathmatch wrestler. He has been quite stubborn in his constant plea for COVID-19 mask mandates over the past year, causing huge controversy backstage.
Riddle hasn’t been too bothered by the controversy and is fully in support of Wuertz. There are people like Karrion Kross aka Killer Kross, Jimmy Jacobs, Bobby Lashley, Elias, Oney Lorcan who have donated as per public records.
Wuertz has contributed $3605.14 to the campaign as of now. The total amount is a whopping $17,733.56 from 161 contributors.
David Bixenspan originally reported the details and said this about Elias: “Subscribe to Fightful Select for details on whatever Sean found out, but I’ll throw in my own freebie: Elias donated to Drake Wuertz’s campaign for the Florida state house. (I’m not kidding. It’s in the public filings.).”
Matt Riddle’s plan for WrestleMania 38
Matt Riddle won the RAW Tag Team Championship along with Randy Orton on last week’s edition of RAW.
This week, Riddle and Orton (RK-Bro) threw a celebration party which was interrupted by The Street Profits. Montez Ford and Angelo Dawkins wanted to challenge the champions to a match at WrestleMania. Orton was in no mood to oblige though. Riddle finally convinced Orton to accept the challenge. Then Ford and Riddle faced each other in a match with Orton and Dawkins at ringside.
First, he delivered a DDT from the middle rope and then the RKO. Ford also displayed his athleticism in a very evenly-matched contest. The match was flowing quite nicely until Alpha Academy came ringside and attacked all the four superstars, Orton, Riddle, Dawkins, and Ford.
Otis and Chad Gable pointed to the WrestleMania sign and in all likelihood, they will be added to the match between RK-Bro and The Street Profits at The Show of Shows.
