Matt Riddle made his in-ring WWE SmackDown debut and faced AJ Styles

WWE star Matt Riddle made a huge impact after debuting on SmackDown. The Original Bro was moved from NXT to SmackDown a couple of weeks ago and took on one of the biggest names in the division.

AJ Styles came out to celebrate winning the Intercontinental championship. The Phenomenal One even taunted Daniel Bryan into presenting him with the title.

However, Bryan wanted Styles to be a fighting champion and told him to create a legacy by facing some of the biggest names on SmackDown.

Styles brushed off all that talk but Riddle made his way to the ring and a challenge was set up. Styles ensured that the match wasn’t for his title, and that was a smart move.

Riddle got the win after putting up an impressive performance. However, he was aided by some interference by ring-side.

The Original Bro was pleased after making his impressive debut, and shared his new name on Twitter too.

Stallion seems to be a word that Riddle loves to use. And he did the same by calling himself the “SMACKDOWN STALLION”.

Riddle would also call his former tag team partner, Pete Dunne, as Stallion Pete, and this was a great way to announce himself to the SmackDown fans.

Riddle highlighted that a tag run with Dunne, should he return, or an Intercontinental title win at the Grandest show of them all would cap off a great year on SmackDown.

He already has a win over the current IC champion Styles now, and that could be a precedent of things to come for him.
