WWE Superstar Matt Riddle recently appeared on Peter Rosenberg’s “Cheap Heat” podcast (h/t Wrestling News) and talked about how RK-Bro was formed, and his idea was actually laughed off his view of WWE.
Riddle mentioned that when he actually said the formation of RK-Bro, he thought this would be really cool, but the writer straightaway laughed off at this idea.
“I mentioned it about a month or so before it actually happened. I mentioned it to some of the writers and some of the boys in the back. They all proceeded to laugh at me when I said, ‘How cool would RK-Bro be?’
Matt Riddle reveals the idea of how the RK-Bro tag team actually was made
Riddle continued the interview and mentioned how this team was eventually formed. He talked about talking and having fun with everybody, including the writing team and camera crew. He brought the idea. First, it was rejected, but eventually, Orton didn’t have an opponent, and neither did he, which made the team.
“I try to talk to the writing team, and I try to talk to the camera crew. I try to talk to everybody and have fun with everybody. I noticed by doing that, my coworkers learn my mannerisms, they learn how I talk, my dialect I guess. They can do things better for me. RK-Bro, I brought it up, wishful thinking and it got laughed at. I was like, oh that will never happen. A couple weeks later, Randy didn’t have an opponent and I didn’t have an opponent, and we made it happen.”
Randy Orton and Matt Riddle are the Raw Tag Team Champions who recently defended their title at the WWE Crown Jewel event.
