Former WWE Champion Drew McIntyre reveals advice given by The Undertaker
Drew McIntyre has opened up about the advice he got from WWE legend The Undertaker when he met him as a youngster.
McIntyre began his career as a favourite of McMahon, but a run of bad bookings and mismanagement led to his release in a few years. The Undertaker met McIntyre during his young days and spoke to him about what he needs to reach the top. McIntyre says: (h/t Out of Character)
“Stop playing the wrestler and be the wrestler. I was out there so concerned about the things I might do and not messing up. If you looked at my eyes you can see I’m just not in the moment. I’m not present. I’m not part of this match. It’s very obvious. “
McIntyre also said that the Undertaker asked him to relax and enjoy the process, rather than consciously try to perform.
The Scottish Psychopath then became a part of 3MB with Jinder Mahal and Heath Slater. The trio miserably failed, after which he went to IMPACT. McIntyre soon became one of the best wrestler on the independent circuit as Drew Galloway, before returning to WWE.
McIntyre gets his final chance at WWE Hell in a Cell against Bobby Lashley for the WWE Championship. The Scot has failed on two successive occasions, losing at WrestleMania 37 and WrestleMania Backlash. Lashley became the champion, after beating The Miz on WWE Raw. The battle at HIAC is set to end the rivalry between Lashley and McIntyre.
McIntyre also lost the WWE Championship after Lashley attacked him causing The Miz to cash his Money in the Bank, earlier this year.
He will be looking to win his second WWE title after shocking Brock Lesnar at last year’s WrestleMania to end his reign. McIntyre is one of the biggest stars in WWE and certainly is going to be a multiple champion with years to come.
