The return of Mia Yim has been speculated by fans for quite some time. She was a part of WWE’s main roster as a part of the villainous faction known as Retribution. She was wrestling under the ring name Reckoning.
Mia Yim had worked in WWE previously from 2014 to 2015. She was among the rosebuds of Adam Rose. She also worked as an enhancement talent on NXT. Yim wrestled current SmackDown Women’s champion, Charlotte Flair, in a match in 2014 but ended up on the losing side.
Mia’s second run in WWE was more notable as she was one of the top female superstars on the NXT roster. Yim has a couple of wins against one of WWE’s current promising superstars – Bianca Belair during her time on NXT. She had a few chances to grab the NXT Women’s Championship but the title eluded her.
After her main roster debut as part of Retribution, she didn’t manage to grab the limelight but that wasn’t her fault. Retribution was a great idea without a long-term plan.
She was released from the company on November 4, 2021. Yim has recently posted a tweet where she wrote: “Tomorrow. Comeback story begins.”
It seems she is indicating her comeback on the independent circuit as there are no WWE or AEW shows scheduled for tomorrow.
The 32-year-old might not have won a title in WWE but she has won various titles across different promotions.
In Big Time Wrestling (BTW) she won the BTW Women’s Championship on one occasion. In DDT Pro-Wrestling she won the Ironman Heavymetal Championship once. She competed in Florida Underground Wrestling (FUW) and became the inaugural NWA FUW Women’s champion.
Yim achieved a lot of success in Shine Wrestling winning the Shine Championship and Shine Tag Team Championship (w/Leva Bates) on one occasion each.
In Tidal Championship Wrestling (TCW) she won the TCW Women’s Championship once. In Southside Wrestling, she won the Queen of Southside Championship, again on one occasion.
She had a decent amount of success in Total Nonstop Action Wrestling (TNA) where she won the TNA Knockouts Championship once. She has also crowned the Queen of the Knockouts in 2016 and also won the TNA World Cup in the same year as a part of Team Hardy.
