Ruby Riott released after 5-year stint with WWE
WWE Hall of Famer Mick Foley reacted to Ruby Riott’s departure and expressed his optimism about her future.
WWE announced last night that Ruby Riott, Aleister Black, Braun Strowman, Lana, Buddy Murphy and Santana Garrett have all been released from their contract.
Further, Foley tweeted that fans are yet to see the best of the 30-year-old star, also known as Heidi Lovelace.
“For @RubyRiottWWE the best is yet to come. I firmly believe that.“
Riott’s teammate and real-life friend Liv Morgan also took to Twitter to share her disappointment:
Ruby Riott and Liv Morgan first started teaming together in late 2017. The duo with Sarah Logan formed ‘The Riott Squad’. They split up during the Superstar Shake-Up in April 2019, but Morgan and Riott later reunited in early 2020.
Since then, the two have been acting as a team in pursuit of the tag team titles after the departure of Sarah Logan in 2020.
Will Ruby Riott sign for AEW ?
Heidi Lovelace made her name in companies ranging from Chikara to CZW and is only 30 years old. One likely destination for her would be to join the exciting AEW.
AEW have created the most exciting and dynamic women’s division in wrestling. AEW now has a roster that features Britt Baker, Riho, Nyla Rose, Hikaru Shida, Serena Deeb, and Ryo Mizunami.
There are so many excellent matchups and feuds that could be built for Lovelace. The company has seen definite growth in the women’s division.
Hikaru Shida was the company’s longest-reigning champion, the division plays host to one of the company’s top feuds and they’ve continued growing their roster with talented wrestlers.
With Ruby Riott’s sparkling CV on the independent circuit, it will be a firm thought on Tony Khan’s mind to bring her talent to AEW.
