Mick Foley compares RKBro to legendary WWE Attitude Era tag team ‘Rock n Sock Connection‘
Former WWE Superstar and Hall of Famer Mick Foley has compared RKBro, the team of Riddle and Randy Orton, to his own legendary tag team from the Attitude Era – Rock n Sock Connection.
The Rock n Sock connection was a tandem between Foley’s ‘Mankind’ persona and the Rock that was over among the fans during 1999 and 2000. The pair held the WWE (WWF back then) Tag Team Championship three times.
A team made of complete opposites, the Rock n Sock Connection was well-received by the fans, while the “This is Your Life” segment involved the duo remains one of the iconic moments of the pair’s run together.
Foley sees Rock n Sock in RKBro
Taking to Twitter, Foley has now likened RKBro to the Rock n Sock Connection, while adding that he likes the pairing.
The team of the ‘Original Bro’, Riddle, and the ‘Viper’ Randy Orton came to existence only last month. Orton was defeated by Riddle on the 19th April edition of WWE Raw, and the following week’s show saw the two put differences aside and form RKBro.
In their first outing, RKBro went on to defeat former WWE Raw Tag Team Champions Cedric Alexander and Shelton Benjamin. They faced off against the team of Elias and Jaxson Ryker earlier this week and came out on top yet again.
The contrasting personalities of Riddle and Orton do make for an interesting viewing. And, it’s not just Mick Foley who is fan, with Easy E Eric Bischoff also an admirer of the unlikely pairing (h/t EWrestling).
RKBro seems to be set for a major push from WWE, according to PW Insider’s Mike Johnson. Will they emerge as contenders for the Raw Tag Team championship held by AJ Styles and Omos in the near future?
