One of WWE’s longest-standing wrestlers in the current roster, Bray Wyatt was released by the WWE on the 31st of July

Bray Wyatt who had been making spasmodic appearances since TLC 2020, was released from the promotion on the 31st of July.

In what came as a shock to many, ‘The New Face of Fear’ was expected to return to the promotion on the 9th of August.

His absence since the Raw after WrestleMania 37 had been attributed to medical reasons, after Wrestling Observer noted that there was no creative or disciplinary issue for the same.

Even a day before his release, a picture of Wyatt looking in great shape went viral, sparking rumors of an imminent comeback.

But it was not to be, as he was released the very next day.

Recently released WWE women’s veteran wrestler, Mickie James reacted to Wyatt’s release from the promotion.

Acknowledging the incredible personas of Wyatt which has been of immense value to the promotion, James took a subtle dig at the WWE, while also hinting that they had handed over his entire gimmick to Alexa Bliss.

She Tweeted:

“I think what you meant to say was: ‘Thank you so much for coming up with such an incredible gimmick(time & time again)one so cool & over, we really didn’t know how to book it right. So we just gave it to someone else so we can still make ALL the money off of it & let you go.'”

Mickie James clarifies that her Tweet wasn’t against Alexa Bliss

Mickie James then clarified that her Tweet wasn’t aimed at Alexa Bliss and that she was only stating facts.

She wrote:

“This isn’t against Alexa. I love her. She’s an incredible performer who is killing it in a role she was given. She always does. We as artists take every role we’re given & turn it into gold. He, she, they both did that. Like it/not. Facts are facts. So sorry if that offends you.”

It is worth noting that Bliss and James had a partnership running in WWE SmackDown back in early 2017.
