Since the inception of Money in the Bank in 2005, this ladder match pay-per-view event has become WWE’s most important event of the year.
This WWE event has resulted in numerous title changes over the years and had major implications for the Road to WrestleMania. After 17 years and 28 matches, many statistics are attached to it.
As of now, a total of 28 matches have occurred in Money in the Bank. 68 Men have competed in this ladder match event, and 20 women have competed in the same.
WWE Hall of Famer Kane and Superstar Kofi Kingston is tied with the most number of appearances in the event with 7 appearances. For women, this record has been held by Natalya.
With winners being given a full year to choose their time to cash in, some wait months for the right opportunity while others have challenged for a belt on the same night.
Kane holds the record for the shortest wait, with only 49 minutes between his win and cashing in the contract. Dean Ambrose is next at 57 minutes, followed by Bayley (85 minutes) and Alexa Bliss (172 minutes).
Money in the Bank event is not only about winning the briefcase but mainly about cashing in at the right time, and this was primarily done by two superstars. It is 16-time World Champion John Cena for men, and for Women, It is none other than Charlotte Flair. They both have cashed in three times.
In the history of this PPV event, there have been 27 different holders of the Money in the Bank contract and 26 winners of the ladder matches.
If we look at the success rate of this event, there have been 26 attempts at a cash-in, and 22 have been successful in getting the prized title, making the success rate 85 %.
