WWE Superstar Montez Ford out of action after undergoing voluntary surgery
The Street Profits’ Montez Ford is set to miss a couple of weeks after undergoing voluntary surgery. Ford posted a photo on Instagram of himself in a hospital bed with the caption, “GOD IS GOOD.”
According to Dave Meltzer, he says: (h/t Wrestling Inc)
“It appears the injuries Ford suffered in the Otis beating on the 6/11 Smackdown were a cover story as he posted photos of him in a hospital appearing like he was getting ready for surgery on 6/24. He did get legitimate surgery, a voluntary surgery not related to an injury and not something that should keep him out of action for any significant length of time.”
Ford was brutally attacked by Otis’ who sported a new clean shaven look after turning heel. The official statement from WWE was that he suffered a partial rib fracture and torn intercostal cartilage. This is seen as a cover story, as he went under the knife for a small procedure, unrelated to the injury.
He will be looking to return alongside Angelo Dawkins to reclaim their Tag Team titles. Ford will also look to seek revenge against Otis and begin a feud which could ignite slowly.
The duo have delivered some of the most exciting tag team matches on both WWE RAW and SmackDown. Hawkins and Ford have won the WWE Raw and SmackDown Tag Team Championships once in their short career. Ford has also made a name for himself delivering a brutal 5-star frog splash.
With Ford out of action, the Profits’ will not be on television for a few weeks but there are plans to bring them back soon.
After Ford’s recovery, the 2020 Tag Team of the Year will look to replicate their achievements of last year and put on a show. The WWE Draft will also take place later this year determining where they continue their tag team brilliance,
