Former WWE Superstar Buddy Murphy discusses being part of Roman Reigns bloodline
Former WWE Superstar Buddy Murphy revealed an idea was put up to join the Roman Reigns bloodline on SmackDown.
Murphy recently was on Insight with Chris Van Vliet, where he spoke about a pitch made to align himself with Reigns and Usos, saying: (h/t Wrestling Edge)
“I had this really cool story idea that I pitched to Heyman, who loved it. I even mentioned it to The Usos, who loved it. It was basically to get me as like a – not a part of the Bloodline, but to be an associate of Paul (Heyman). I don’t take orders from Roman (Reigns) but I do his bidding because Heyman asked me (to do so). It was like a sub story on the side of Heyman.”
“Heyman loved it, and I ended up having a conversation with Hunter (Triple H) while he was at a SmackDown taping and just mentioned to him that I pitched this idea to Heyman, (Triple H) loved it. We’ll see where that goes and I understand it needs to go through a particular ranking, get it approved by Vince.”
Murphy was instead moved to the storyline with Seth Rollins and Rey Mysterio. He turned face after aligning with the Mysterio family. The storyline was a good push for Murphy, but then he slowly faded away, leading to his release.
Murphy and Bliss were together and got engaged in in 2017. Despite their breakup. they have stayed close friends till date. Bliss tweeted in support of Murphy, after his interview saying that she would always be there for him.
Bliss is a huge star on WWE Raw after adapting a new gimmick which has scared the WWE Universe. She will be part of the Women’s Money in the Bank match this Sunday.
Murphy, meanwhile, makes his wrestling return against Brian Cage on September 18th for Battleground Championship Wrestling.
