WWE Superstar Mustafa Ali wants to play ‘Blade’ for the Marvel Cinematic Universe
Marvel recently posted for the casting of their upcoming project, and that is none other than Marvel’s vampire slayer du jour ‘Blade’.
The daywalker will be played by Mashershala Ali. Delroy Lindo is the only other cast member known, but as the casting details are out, WWE Superstar Mustafa Ali wants to be part of it.
He responded to the casting details, which said that Blade asked for South Asian males in their 20s to 30s. It said the actor must be open to training though actors with fight experience are also encouraged to audition. The character description itself reads, “Though he’s taken a vow of silence, his eyes tell us he has been through strife.”
Ali shared a picture of himself after a match and confidently threw his name into the mix.
“Hello @MarvelStudios, I think you’re looking for me. #BLADE“
Ali is not only a fantastic wrestler but also excellent on the microphone, which suggests that he can really pull off a character like Blade. Fans of the WWE Universe will love to see Ali being part of the MCU.
The Upcoming movie Blade is expected to hit in 2023 and will be starting to film sometime this year. Bassam Tariq is directing the movie, and Stacy Osei-Kuffour (Watchmen) writes the script. If Ali gets the part, it will be a fantastic turn of events for the youngster as he is agile and fit enough to pull off the action sequences, and fans will be thrilled to see him on the big screen.
Blade made his off-camera debut in the MCU in the post-credits scene of Marvel’s Eternals. Ali is a regular on WWE television as a part of SmackDown.
