Mustafa Ali shared on Twitter how The Usos and Ricardo Rodriguez helped the leader of ‘RETRIBUTION’ get a trial with WWE some 5 years back.

Rodriguez got a little personal on his Twitter account on Tuesday. The former WWE star, who was released by the promotion in 2014, opened up on his battle with alcohol and depression.

The 34-year-old described how his insomnia led to depression, and that his solution to the problem was running to alcohol. However, he followed it up with some good news.

He revealed that he checked into rehab 8 months back and share photos of his progress. The news was celebrated by fellow WWE wrestlers in the reply section, and Mustafa Ali took the occasion to publicly the thank Rodriguez for his contribution.

Ali shared that Rodriguez was there when Ali was called out for a try out with WWE. He mentions that he was at an event where locals fought to be scouted for the promotion.

Rodriguez searched Ali on YouTube and advised him what to do and what to avoid when in the ring. Rodriguez advised him to do his iconic ‘054’ in the ring, despite Ali being against it.

Ali also mentions that the Usos were watching the match while he successfully connected the move. He then says that it was the reason behind WWE inviting him for an official tryout.

The rest, as they say, his history. Ali made his debut in 2016 with WWE and has gone on to become one of the most famous wrestlers on the main roster.

The leader of RETRIBUTION put his gimmick aside to show his real side, and fans appreciated how he shared this heart-warming moment with the WWE universe.
