Mustafa Ali teases match against WWE NXT Cruiserweight Champion Kushida
Kushida is going to face Kyle O’ Reilly for the WWE NXT Cruiserweight title this week, but it seems he has another interesting challenger- Mustafa Ali.
Ali, is a fan favourite who has impressed the WWE Universe with his skills and move-set. The acrobatic man will be a perfect match for Kushida, who will match his pace and speed in a fight.
Ali reposted a GIF on Twitter applauding Kushida after he questioned as to who could add value to the championship. This could indicate a future match between the pair, which will be a blockbuster for the fans across the wrestling world.
A move back NXT for Ali as a dangerous heel after the demise of Retribution could spell danger for Kushida if the match were to happen in the near future.
Kushida won his first title in WWE beating Santos Escobar in April on NXT. He has since then issued an open challenge to the NXT roster. Last week, Kushida faced another debutant in the form of Trey Baxter.
Baxter put up a tough fight but couldn’t last against the former mixed martial artist. Kushida also boasts an undefeated martial arts record in his career.
Kushida vs Kyle O’ Reilly
Before the prospect of other Superstars, Kushida faces former Undisputed Era member Kyle O’ Reilly on this week’s NXT for the Cruiserweight Championship. The two match each other in terms of skill and wrestling style. With Kyle O’ Reilly looking to become one of the top faces in the roster on NXT, he is set to face a tough test against Kushida.
O’ Reilly will also have to rack up a few wins to make the match against Adam Cole more hotly anticipated. WWE NXT GM William Regal announced that the former teammates will meet at Great American Bash next month. O’ Reilly is still some way behind Cole in terms of the stature they hold on the roster.
It will be interesting to see if O’Reilly beats Kushida and wins the NXT Cruiserweight title ahead of his blockbuster fight against Adam Cole.
